Sweet Named President of Eurasia Group of Companies
LEESBURG, IN – August 9, 2021 – Maple Leaf Farms, Inc. Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of David Sweet as president of its Eurasia Group of companies.
Consisting of Eurasia Feather, Inc., Down, Inc., and Lake Michigan Feather, this division is responsible for managing and marketing down and feather products for the company.Sweet started with the company in 2003 and most recently served as general manager of Eurasia Feather, Inc., and vice president of Lake Michigan Feather. He holds an undergraduate degree in international business and general management from Grand Valley State University, and recently earned an executive master’s degree in business from GVSU’s Seidman College of Business. “David has been a valuable leader within our feather division for years,” said Maple Leaf Farms CEO Scott Reinholt. “His passion for and knowledge of the down and feather industry is unparalleled.”
Sweet served as president of the American Down and Feather Council from 2015-2019. In this capacity, he led the organization and represented the industry internationally and on Capitol Hill. In 2018, he testified during trade hearings and successfully made the case for a tariff exemption for the industry. “We look forward to working with and supporting David in his new role with our company,” said Reinholt.
