5. Freedom From Fear and Distress Providing proper handling, growing conditions and treatment to prevent suffering.
Verifies that down and feather products are ethically sourced. It allows processors, trade companies and manufacturers to demonstrate their ability to provide ethically produced materials and helps retailers and brands confirm their suppliers are producing materials ethically.
Certifies products that contain feathers and down from certified farms. It ensures that the feathers and the duvet used in the padded products derive from geese and ducks raised in compliance with the principles and criteria of animal welfare. The scope of RDS include the full down supply chain from farms to slaughter facilities to the down processors and garment factories.
An international, voluntary standard that sets requirements for third-party certification of certified organic input and chain of custody. The primary goal fo the OCS is to increase organic agriculture production.
